01For the run
A firmer knit that holds the leg and the waist, a sandwich waistband with a mesh layer inside for the midsection, no seam down the front, and two deep side pockets. The hiking version adds zip pockets and a water-resistant finish.
Colorways on this page: Brown, Charcoal, Spacedye Mauve, Black, Blue, Forest Green, Gray, Green, and 3 more.
Compression is a firmer knit with more spandex pulling back, and on a leg it does two things: it holds the muscle still on impact, and it holds the waistband where you put it. The pairs on this page are built around that. The waistband is a sandwich, two layers of knit with a high-elastic mesh between them, so the midsection is held without a seam pressing into it, and the front of the pant is cut in one piece with no center seam. The side pockets are the same two as on every legging we make, deep enough for a phone.
The hiking pair is the compression legging taken outdoors: a durable water-repellent finish that beads light rain, a UPF 50+ knit for a day on an open trail, and instead of open side pockets two zip pockets and a row of cargo pockets that close over a phone on a scramble. It is heavier than the plain pair and it is the one to take when the day has a hill in it. Both wash cold and inside out, and both keep their hold longest if they never see a dryer.

02About these pieces
For the run
Firm. They hold the leg and the waist without cutting, in the right size. A size too small pinches at the band before it does anything else. Between two sizes, take the larger. The knit is the same nylon-spandex as the buttery pair with more pull-back in it.
No. The front is cut in one piece, which is what people mean when a card says no front seam. The seams sit at the sides and the back, and the waistband is a sandwich of two layers with a mesh between them.
Water-resistant: a finish that beads light rain and wet grass and wears off slowly with washing. They are not waterproof, and the card does not say they are. The zip pockets close over a phone, and the knit is rated UPF 50+.
